Project Plan – Lesson 7

The Manage Phase


(7.1) Process Management:
               
Introduction
Presentation of the topic
Providing opportunity for all the students to express their thoughts
Planning of the projects
List out the areas to be covered
Selection of efficient leaders
Group co-operation
Problem management
Finding out the solutions

(7.2) Student Preparation:
                
Gist of the project to be given to the students.Preparing them towards the various stages of the project.Collecting ideas from them and include their suggestions.Providing chance all the participants.Developing self confidence .Having a proper control of the team members.Group management.

(7.3)  Facilitation:
                
Try to obtain knowledge from newspapers,using the internet facilities from the school computers ,Issue the books related to the study,G roup discussion about the questions to be prepared for the survey,make necessary arrangement for the conduct of the survey.


(7.4) Progress Monitoring:
                
Conducting meeting with all their prepared reports and the presentation  of the topic  for the entire class.Based on the performance of the group they are graded accordingly.Best group  of the week is announced ,to improve the performance of remaining groups.Necessary corrections are made accordingly.

Testing the individual contribution made by the students towards the project.Knowing their role and task given.To see that even the below average child has been participating actively and has made his contribution in the project.Conducting a personal talk with the students.

(7.5) Re-planning:
               
"IF WE FAIL TO PLAN THEN BETTER PLAN TO FAIL" is a saying .Hence a proper planning is always necessary.proper planning and constant check of the project will help to keep the project to be in a right track.But still if it is found to move off track then necessary home works can be assigned.

(7.6) Conflict Management:
                
Selection of an efficient leader who can manage with all the issues created will be greatly necessary.But a regular check made by the teacher in between can also prevent the conflicts.Students who never made any contribution  to the project are to be warned in the initial stage itself.Tackling the conflicts and overcoming the problems is itself a part of the project.

The Review Phase


(6.1)Student Reflection and Evaluation:
               
Suggestions and ideas of the students are to be given utmost importance. The active participation of the students it self shows that the project is a success. Hence a regular talk with the students is very much important. They have to be given chances to express their ideas and views. Corrections in the project have to be done accordingly.

(6.2) Teacher Reflection and Evaluation:
               
I have prepared a teacher reflection and evaluation form to complete the covers:

Lesson 5

The Do Phase

(5.1) Project Launch:
                
Introduction of the project to be done to the whole class. Based  on it the students will be asked to present their ideas for the start of the project. Initially the need for choosing this topic is stressed,and their suggestions are asked. The class is to be divided into groups without any discrimination ,and without considering their academic performance. Inorder to manage the group an efficient leader is selected. Main steps of the project is discussed. Work plan is displayed in the class room.In addition to it the survey ,Questionnaire, report making is done,and a solution for thr problem of shortage of electricity is done.

(5.3) Culminating product:
               
To create awareness among the students regarding the usage of electricity,teach them the basics of electricity,create awareness among the society regarding the over usage of electricity,providing them the tips to conserve electricity ,teach them safety measures to prevent electric shock,limit the usage of  electricity,First aid to be given at the time of electric shock.

(5.4) Celebrating completion:
               
Presentation of the project before the students of the school.Displaying the charts and presenting the power point presentation to the students in the morning assembly.Evaluating and providing the certificates to the participants.Conducting exhibition with the models prepared.

Lesson 3- Plan Phase

3.1 Work Breakdown, Products and Milestones:
           
CLASS ROOM INSTRUCTION
INTRODUCTION to the students regarding the project on ELECTRICITY stating its importance in our daily life



GROUP DIVISION The entire class is divided into 5 groups with 9 members each with an efficient leader to manage the overall.
RESEARCH: Online & library
SURVEY: Testing the basic knowledge about ELECTRICITY among the public(SURVEY REPORT)
QUESTIONNAIRE: A set of questions are prepared by the students during the survey conducted in the society.

PAPER PRESENTATION: Any member  from  the team should be able to present the topic.
ACTIVITIES PLANNED:
1. Introduce the basic electrical components & their function .
2. Design a simple circuit using LED, cell & switch and highlight the role of switch in the circuit.


3. Heating Effect of Electric Current & its applications (Iron Box, Oven ,Heater).
4. Making of an Electromagnet.
5.Familiarise the various types of fuses & their role in electrical appliances
6. Demonstrate the relationship between electricity & magnetism.
7. Awareness program
